Support, Inspire, Build Community
A community garden serves the community by providing access to fresh, locally grown produce, fostering education and skill development in gardening and nutrition, promoting social interaction and community building among diverse members, contributing to environmental sustainability through organic practices and green space creation, enhancing health and well-being through exercise and connection with nature, and empowering individuals and communities economically through opportunities for entrepreneurship and local food production.

Welcome to Heart House of Palmer, founded by me Patrice Dyson, where the mission is rooted in transforming communities through essential services and opportunities. Upon moving to Puerto Rico, I discovered a profound need for accessible resources. The nearest library was over 40 minutes away, sparking my determination to create a hub right here in Palmer.
At Heart House, I am dedicated to bridging gaps in education and support. My vision encompasses a fully equipped library, a state-of-the-art computer lab, comprehensive workforce programs, and vital literary services. Understanding the pressing challenges faced by many, we also will provide a food pantry and essential supplies for the homeless.
Through strategic partnerships with government and private sponsors, we're committed to making these services readily available. Our goal extends beyond mere provision; we aim to cultivate a nurturing environment where children, youth, and the elderly can thrive.
Join us on this journey of empowerment and community enrichment. Together, we can build a brighter future for Palmer, Puerto Rico, and beyond.

"Ubuntu" term from Southern Africa that conveys a complex concept of humanity and community. It is often translated as "I am because we are" or "humanity towards others." Ubuntu emphasizes the interconnectedness of people and their responsibilities toward one another. It embodies values such as compassion, empathy, and mutual support, promoting a harmonious existence within a community. This philosophy underscores the idea that our individual well-being is intricately linked to the well-being of others, and that we thrive when we respect and care for each other.
